Here I come with my all time favorite recipe “POHA”.I learned this recipe from my mom but after my marriage I saw my husband’s love for POHA which made my recipe more yummy then ever. I think cooking simple with perfect ingredients gives the best result.I will try to update all my recipes with step by step images as well,Till than please go word to word recipe for perfect cooking .POHA goes best as breakfast but if you are a college going student or working men/women than you can also have it as lunch or dinner.
Let’s start cooking
Things for making yummy POHA(Ingredients)
1.5 cup thick poha
1 large onion(pyaaz)
1 large potato
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
1 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
2 or 2.5 tablespoon peanuts (moongfalli)
10 to 12 curry leaves (kadi patta)
2 green chilies
1 or 1.5 tablespoon oil
salt as required
1.Cut onion and potato into thin slices.
2.Chop green chilies.
3.Dry roast peanut in a pan till they become crunchy.
4.Rinse the poha water til they soften.(It should not be so soft as it may melt while cooking)
2.Crackle mustard seeds first
4.Add potato and saute them till golden brown.
5.Add curry leaves and green chilies saute for about half a minute.
6.Add roasted peanuts and turmeric powder & stir.
7.Now add soften poha & stir gently to mix all ingredients.
8.Cover & steam the poha for 2-3 minutes on a low flame.
9.while cooking check after 1 minute and give a stir again.
10.Switch off the gas and let the poha remain covered for 1 to 2 minutes.
11.Remove the lid & sprinkle some coriander leaves and lemon juice on poha.
12.Give a gentle stir & serve in hot condition as it tastes best in it.
